This is gorgeous. I really like that you captured the one with its wings fully spanned and the others are a bit folded. It makes it look artistic. We have Great Blue Herons around here and they’ve always fascinated me. These Grey Herons are quite impressive. They seem just as elegant. However I only ever tend to see single birds around here. Is it common for you to see the pairs?
The more I see migratory birds on people’s posts and in articles the more I tell myself to really make a huge effort this year to go in search of our migrating birds. I know there are some beauties like the scarlet Tanager. Now I feel like I need to write up a game plan or something, lol.

They migrate to these parts and are here between Oct and the following March/April.
