Cee’s Which Way Challenge 2015: Week #37

This week, for Cee’s Which Way Challenge, I have four different pictures from my travel to Sri Lanka. This challenge subject is all about capturing the roads, walks, trails, rails, we move from one place to another on. You can walk on them, climb them, drive them, ride them, as long as the way is visible. Any angle of a bridge is acceptable as are any signs. (Yes, I am going to miss this challenge next month onward)

The first one is from inside the Tooth relic Temple at Kandy, the pathways leading in and out of the buildings inside.

The second one is from our drive back from Nuwara Eliya. We stopped at a temple on the way (you can see its top portion to the left). It was quite misty and there was a chilly wind blowing.

This leads to where our boat docked at one of the islands in Madu Ganga.

These steps lead to a Buddhist and Hindu temples in the same island.

So here are more pictures from Galle Fort, Sri Lanka, as promised in my previous ‘which-way’ post.
The steps leading to the top of the one part of the fort. After climbing these when you turn right, you’ll find yourself staring at the clock tower.

Standing near the clock tower and looking down, you see the road below, and the traffic. To the left is the famous cricket ground all under wraps to protect it from the rain and keep it ready for the next day’s game.

Part of another road visible from the south end of the fort. In the distance is the lighthouse.

These pictures are from Galle Fort in the Bay of Galle in southwest coast of Sri Lanka, built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards.

Below, part of the muddy walkway at the fort; and beyond and below to it, the sea.

Rain that fell earlier in the day has left puddles in the pathway. In the distance you can see tourists and locals alike enjoying the sea breeze and the view, taking pictures et al..

A wider view of the path we walked. In the distance can be seen clouds gathering for an encore of the morning’s performance, but we weren’t around to watch it as by then we were on our way to Bentota..

While walking up the path to the waterfall at Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka, we met this old lady who was collecting firewood. It was a chilly day and the path went uphill all the way.

We forgot to ask her name, but she told us her dog was called Rocky. Here you can see Rocky about to settle down by the wayside and wait for his mistress to finish her work.

Found these pretty pink flowers on the climb to the waterfall at Nuwara Eliya, Sr Lanka.

The first part of the way to the elephant stalls at the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage at Sri Lanka. The second picture is of the people walking down the last lap of the path to the stalls. Yup, I had the Which Way challenge in mind when I took these pictures 😉
